One of the most sought after offensive linemen in the State of Michigan for the 2014 class is Ogemaw Heights high school tackle Alec Stevens. Stevens updates his recruitment, talks Michigan visit and where the Wolverines stand.
It’s been an inconsistent year for the Ogemaw Heights high school football team sitting at 4-3 with just two regular season contests remaining before playoff selection begins. But for 2014 offensive tackle
, his junior season has been a huge success with several high major universities reaching out with interest.
“Michigan, Michigan State, Central Michigan, Nebraska, Georgia, Syracuse,” Stevens told GoBlueWolverine of his college choices to date.
Of the six schools mentioned above, Stevens isn’t coy about his affinity for one in-state school in particular.
“Right now I just have a top one right now,” said Stevens. “Probably Michigan right now cause they’re doing the most to look at me and stuff. I’ve been to one of their games and it was fun there.”
“The camp I was injured so I couldn’t compete there but when I got invited there I just loved the atmosphere and the win against UMass,” added Stevens. “It was just a great atmosphere. Met all the coaches who are all real nice and it was just really fun.”
Despite not having an offer from the Wolverines as of yet, that strong relationship and continued interest has Stevens staying as patient as possible.
“They’re telling me they like what they see on film but they just want to see more,” said Stevens. “My coaches didn’t update it but they’re going to update it on huddle and they’re going to keep looking at me more and keep on going.”
