Georgetown lands shooter

The Georgetown Hoyas landed a priority target early on Monday.

The Georgetown Hoyas love forwards who can spread out a defense and hit shots from the perimeter. Now they have one in the form of New Jersey native Reggie Cameron. The Jersey City (NJ) Hudson Catholic standout pulled the trigger on Wednesday morning.

At 6-foot-7, Cameron is one of the best shooters in the entire 2013 class. He was a force all during the EYBL for the Playaz Basketball Club shooting the ball from distance, and now he will bring that game to the nation's capital.

The commitment to Georgetown was confirmed by Cameron via text message, and it came over interest from schools like Virginia, Michigan, North Carolina State, Rutgers, and others.

Cameron managed to shoot a robust 51 percent from beyond the three point arc this summer during EYBL play, but it was his commitment to getting better in the other aspects of his game that made him a more complete player. He is now in much better shape, is capable of going off the dribble a little bit more, and also is showing more effort on the defensive end.

He is now a four-star prospect, and he becomes the first commitment for the Hoyas in the class of 2013. Recommended Stories
