The Preseason West 150

The nation's top safety, Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta's Su'a Cravens and top quarterback, Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline's Max Browne lead the preseason West 150...

Last year, offensive linemen dominated the West.

This year, it's USC recruits.

A year ago, four of the top seven prospects in the region were offensive linemen.

In this class, five of the top eight prospects, nine of the top 17 prospects and the top four are all headed to USC.

Leading the way is the nation's top safety, Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta's Su'a Cravens.  Like Shaq Thompson, De'Anthony Thomas and Robert Woods before him, Cravens is a two-way star who's just as dangerous with the ball in his hands as he is making a big play defensively.

Following Cravens is the nation's top quarterback, Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline's Max Browne.  An Elite 11 finalist, Browne is not just the top offensive prospect in the region but the top offensive prospect in the country.

Next comes Auburn (Calif.) Placer defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes, one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the country (ranked second at tackle nationally), and for the third straight year gives the Sacramento area a top-three prospect in the West.

Another Sacramento area player comes in at fourth in running back Justin Davis out of Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln, the #2-ranked back nationally and the top back in the West.

Rounding out the top five is the lone player not committed to USC and the top player in Arizona, Tempe (Ariz.) Marcos De Niza cornerback Priest Willis, who's one of only two players in the top 10 that has yet to make a decision.

Here is a look at's Class of 2013 West 150, heading into the season.
