Green was struck toward the upper body by a tackler. The collision forced him to the turf of the indoor facility, requiring immediate medical attention.
Northwestern medical personnel rushed to Green assistance once the incident occurred. He received assistance before local authorities escorted him to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
"After a thorough evaluation, all tests results returned negative and we expect Treyvon to be released from the hospital this evening and make a full recovery," said NU head coach Pat Fitzgerald in a statement.
Fitzgerald along with NU running backs coach Matt MacPherson traveled with Green in the ambulance to a local hospital.
The incident forced all players and practice observers to clear the facility. Many Wildcat players gathered for a team prayer; some were visibly shaken by the scene.
Northwestern is set for a return to the practice field on Saturday.
