Weishar Taking Trips

Weishar Taking Trips

2014 Marist High (Ill.) wide receiver prospect Nic Weishar has several big time offers under his belt, and talks about several recent trips inside.

Marist High (Ill.) wide receiver Nic Weishar is one of the biggest 2014 wide receiver/tight end prospects in Illinois -- all 6-foot-5 inches of him.

"My summer been good," Weishar said. "Just getting ready for the big game coming up."

That big game, is opening weekend for Weishar and Marist High -- as they take on St. Rita on Soldier Field August 25th at 3PM.

In the meantime, Weishar has taken several visits to a pair of Big Ten schools.

"I haven't received any new offers recently," Weishar said. "But I did visit Michigan State and Michigan this weekend."

He added, "The trip was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it."

Weishar visited both during the weekend, and with the start of both his junior year and college calendars coming up -- it was a good weekend.

"It was pretty busy on campus because a lot of the freshman were reporting to campus," Weishar said.

Even though the Chicago area standout only lives several hours away, Weishar hadn't had a chance to visit either school.

"It was my first trip to both," Weishar said. "It was a great experience both places."

Weishar started his Big Ten tour with the Spartans.

"I went to Michigan State on Friday," Weishar said. "And just got a quick tour of the facilities because they were pretty busy.

And then continued onto visit in-state rival Michigan.

"I went to Michigan on Saturday and I spent a few hours there," Weishar said.

And he summed up his weekend pretty concisely.

"It was a really great experience at both," Weishar said.

Weishar also visited several other schools this past few months.

"I visited Wisconsin in the spring," Weishar said. "And I also visited Vanderbilt this summer."

As the Marist High reciever enters his junior season, he knows he will be taking visits during the fall as well.

"I think I am going to take some visits," Weishar said. "I am going to try to get out to some games this fall, I am just not sure which ones yet."
