Friday was a big day for 2015 offensive lineman Brennan Bosch of St. Charles East High.
Not just because he was only a few days removed from his freshman year, but because he picked up his first offer -- from Illinois.
Bosch and his family visited Champaign, and left with his first offer.
"It went very well," Bosch said of his visit. "I got to meet the whole coaching staff and the strength and conditioning staff."
Plus, Bosch got to see Champaign like he hadn't ever before.
"I got to tour the whole campus," Bosch said. "And the facilities and got to talk specifically with the offensive line coach, Coach Butkus and Coach Beckman."
And as for his first offer, it wasn't something he was expecting.
"I was very surprised and grateful," Bosch said. "I thanked them and was very excited."
There were several big reasons why Bosch was particularly excited about this offer.
"My mom went there," Bosch said. "And my grandfather played linebacker for Illinois, so it would be great to carry on the family tradition."
"I am going up with my brother to Michigan soon," Bosch said.
