His Recruiting Story
Though playing his high-school ball in Missouri, Ondre grew up in Saginaw and was already very familiar with
Michigan
. It did not take the coaches to become familiar with him. At the Army underclassmen combine he received defensive lineman honors, and on the field of battle he also was a center of attention at NT his sophomore year. He did not gather stellar numbers, but drew a minimum two offensive linemen on most plays. He also gathered many offers including
Alabama
,
Oklahoma
,
Ohio State
, Missouri and others. His impressive senior stats of 49 tackles, 8 tfl, 4 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles have earned him an All-State nod, and membership on the Army All-American squad.
His Commitment Comments
"It's going to be crazy. It's going to be awesome. Words can't explain how excited I am to run out of that tunnel and have everyone cheering and yelling 'Go Wolverines”.
GoBlueWolverine Commentary
“Ondre’s strong, quick off the ball, and when he can latch on to an opponent and stay low, he can take care of his gaps. He gets double, sometimes triple-teamed, which allows linebackers to flow freely. He plays with a good motor. His job is to draw the double and triple team, but he is very disruptive in the backfield. Throw in the fact that he is a good tackler and can move and you can see why he held offers from all over” - Greg Powers.
