Caleb Stacey Speechless After Michigan Game
"I mean, I don't even know how to explain it, honestly," Stacey told GoBlueWolveirne. "You know, it was just a "wow" experience. Them coming back with 30 seconds was just like, wow this… that's all I have to say really, I don't know what to say, I'm speechless."
The excitement in the aftermath of the thrilling come from behind win for the Maize and Blue was palpable throughout Ann Arbor, extending from the coaches and players first.
"They were all excited, they were ecstatic," Stacey said of the players and coaches. "We were jumping up and down for them. We didn't really get a chance to talk to the coaches after the game, but we talked to them for a few minutes before the game. Obviously it's a busy day for them and it wasn't something I was too worried about, talking to the coaches, as much as being at the first night game in Michigan history."
The atmosphere and glitz and glamour of the entire evening was noticeable from anyone who was within 100 miles of Ann Arbor. Stacey agreed.
"The first thing I thought was wow, I chose the right school. It was a blast. We were walking around campus and checking out the student life and it was a great time. I loved it. I'll be back up for probably the Purdue game and the Nebraska and Ohio State game for sure."
The win, the atmosphere and everything else combined made Stacey even more sure of his choice than he's ever been.
"Oh definitely. We've got a kid from my area that was up there from my area, A.J. Williams, and me and him were sitting next to each other the whole game and just knowing that I'm going away to college with someone I know and someone I'm friends with makes it more comfortable as well."
Two highly touted West Coast recruits who are at this point uncommitted were also in Ann Arbor to officially visit the Wolverines, and Stacey was able to put in a little work on one of them.
"I got a chance to talk to Zach (Banner) and I didn't really get to talk to Jordan (Payton) at all, but Zach seemed like he was in love with the place. He was smiling the whole time, having fun, cheering for Michigan. Hopefully he decides to go blue."
Up next for Stacey is continuing focus on his senior season and a tough test this weekend.
"My senior season is going good right now. We lost our first game and then we bounced back with two straight wins. We host Middletown this week and that's always going to be a tough game with the quarterback, Jalin Marshall that they've got. We'll see how that goes."
