ANN ARBOR - University of Michigan football head coach Brady Hoke announced Sunday (Aug. 28) that seniors Kevin Koger (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer), David Molk (Lemont, Ill./Lemont Township) and Mike Martin (Redford, Mich./Catholic Central) have been elected captains of the 2011 football team by a vote of their teammates.

(Redford, Mich./Catholic Central) have been elected captains of the 2011 football team by a vote of their teammates.
"The entire senior class has shown great leadership since the spring, and they all are looked up to as leaders of this football team," said Hoke. "Kevin, David and Mike are great representatives for our team and the University of Michigan. I will be honored to be led out of the tunnel by them and the rest of the seniors on the Saturdays ahead."
Koger, a three-year letterman and starter at tight end, has opened 19 of 34 career games, totaling 36 receptions for 512 yards and five touchdowns. Koger started eight of 13 games in 2010, catching 14 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2011 Mackey Award, given to the nation's top tight end.
Molk, a three-year letterman and starter at center, has opened 29 career games. Molk started 13 games in 2010 and was named to the All-Big Ten first-team by the conference's coaches and second-team by the media. He was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, given to the nation's top center. Molk was named to the 2011 preseason watch list for the Rimington Trophy and Rotary Lombardi Award.
Martin, a 2010 All-Big Ten second-team choice by the conference's coaches, has started 24 of 36 career games at defensive tackle. Martin has recorded 108 career tackles, 19 for loss, and 6.5 sacks. He totaled 37 tackles, six for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 12 starts in 2010. Martin has been named to the 2011 preseason watch list for the Bednarik Award and Rotary Lombardi Award.
Koger, Molk and Martin were named in 2011 as All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
