Michigan Preview

A quick-hitting look at Brady Hoke and the Michigan Wolverines heading into the 2011 season.

Michigan PREVIEW

Last season's record: 7-6

Returning starters/letterwinners: 17/55

Key losses: OG Steve Schilling, LB Jonas Mouton (2nd Team All B1G), OT Perry Dorrestein

Key returnees: QB Denard Robinson (B1G Offensive POY), DT Mike Martin (2nd Team All B1G), OC Dave Molk (1st team All B1G)

Best games: Nov. 26 Ohio State, Oct. 15 at Michigan State, Sept. 10 Notre Dame

Projected finish: 8-4

2011 Outlook: On offense, Michigan has the 2010 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in Denard Robinson but a new pro-style system.  On defense Michigan has brought in highly regarded coordinator Greg Mattison from the Baltimore Ravens to bring the Wolverines D back to respectability after finishing dead-last in the league in most categories last season. With 17 returning starters and a new head coach in Brady Hoke, Michigan should be able to show improvement over the 7-6 2010 record that ended Rich Rodriguez's stint in Ann Arbor.
