Tragedy Strikes Hatch Family

Michigan basketball recruit Austin Hatch was a passenger in a plane that crashed Friday. The accident occured in Charlevoix, MI and claimed the lives of Hatch's parents, Dr. Stephen Hatch and his wife Kim. Austin was critically injured and is currently in an intensive care unit.

According to an AP Report, the plane was headed for Boyne Falls, Michigan.  Sources have informed GoBlueWolverine that the Hatch family owns vacation property in Northern Michigan.

The tragic accident is the second of its type that Austin Hatch has survived.  In 2003 Stephen Hatch was piloting a plane from Michigan back to Ft. Wayne that clipped a power pole and crashed.  His wife Julie, 11-year-old daughter Lindsay, 5-year-old son Ian, and the family dog, all died in the accident.
