The former "Michigan Showcase" is now the "Best of the Midwest" and the linemen portion figures to have several top seniors to be and a few underclassmen we are high on.

Last year, the linemen portion of the then "Michigan Showcase" was where guys like Chris Bryant and Eric Crume raised their profile and underclassmen like Matt Godin, Jordan Diamond, Ron Thompson, Elijah Daniel and others began making names for themselves.

This year, Diamond will be back, but as a non-participant. With double digit offers from top BCS schools, the Chicago Simeon lineman will take a little break from competition, but will be supporting his teammates.

The offensive line will still have plenty of talent though. Toledo St. Francis DeSales twins Hunter Stanley and Cam Stanley have performed well at every camp we've seen them at, and they appear close to the first offers. Portage Central's Kyle Knapp impressed us at both Michigan and Michigan State camps, as well as on tape. A good performance here should boost his profile even more. Another out of state prospect to watch is Avon (Ind.) High's 6-6, 325-lb DeAndre Herron, who is receiving multiple Division-1 looks. This will be our first time seeing the mammoth tackle in person.

One 2012 prospect we're excited to see is Warren DeLaSalle's Mark Edwards, a 6-5, 320-lb tackle who caught our eye on tape recently. Fellow catholic league lineman Jake Wider, of DCC performed well at the Maximum Exposure event earlier in the Winter, as did Clarkston's Lucas Sanders. The top underclassmen on the offensive line is Detroit Cass Tech's David Dawson.

Defensively, the interior guys are lead by Capac's Dakota Perry, who had a good showing at Maximum Exposure, Detroit Renaissance's Jabari Dean and Fort Wayne Harding's Donte Bowen.

The group could get much stronger if expected attendees not on the pre-registered list such as Matt Godin, Chris Wormley, Dan O'Brien and others end up making the trip in.

Chicago's Morgan Park will send it's entire front four, and all of them have college potential. None may have more than sophomore defensive end Demetrius Cooper, a 6-5, 225-lb youngster who had 17 sacks a year ago. Fellow sophomore Kahari Bailey had nine sacks on the other side.
