Fisher Has Michigan In-Home

The one-time Wolverine commit, who has reopened his recruitment in light of Michigan’s coaching change, hosted the Wolverine’s new offensive line coach Monday.
Jake Fisher
, the offensive tackle from Traverse City (MI) and one time firm Michigan commitment, recently reopened his recruitment and took a visit to East Lansing over the weekend.
“It was good,” Fisher told
GoBlueWlverine
of his Michigan State visit. “Just the professionalism of the coaching staff there.”
Monday night, however, new Michigan offensive line coach Darrell Funk was in Fisher’s home to discuss the goings-on in Ann Arbor and to deliver the message that Fisher was still very much wanted by the new staff.
“It went well,: Jake said about Funk's visit. "He just told me about his coaching resume and getting to rebuild a relationship, one of those types of things.”
The new staff still plans on using Fisher in the same way the former coaching staff planned.
“As an offensive tackle. He told me what they run and how they run it and things like that. Anything really.”
He has also had the chance to speak over the phone with new head man Brady Hoke.
“I have a couple times here,” Fisher said. “They’ve been good, really good.”
Despite the reopening of his commitment, the Wolverines are still very much in the running for Fisher, and he is more comfortable with the new situation in Ann Arbor.
“Yeah, absolutely. It’s just the way they want to run the program and things like that. I had no idea how they were going to be.”
His previous comment on his commitment status was a "no comment," and it’s still relatively the same thing.
“There really isn’t a status at all. I’m still putting things together, and everyone is still the same for me right now.”
Fisher will take in visits to Florida and Oregon in the coming weeks, and will make an effort to get to Ann Arbor or wait for Hoke to make it to Traverse City.
“Either they’re going to come here or I’m going to go there, one or the other.”
